day 9 of 30: happiness...what it be?

I wake up in my own bed and no alarm is involved. The sun is shining and the birds are singing as so are the cats and dog because they're under the impression that they're hungry.
Leisurely bath with coffee the drink and something to read.
Coffee (of the bean variety) and a good book on the porch in the morning sunshine. Silly jokes no one else would think were funny, but we do. A clean kitchen--one of life's minor pleasures, but it never fails to make me smile--and a morning smoothie, with a banana, strawberries, and blueberries.
Read some poetry. Select some for my students to choose from for their first paper.
Switch to readings for tomorrow's lessons. Two classic essays on war and two short stories randomly selected.
Mich is back from shopping, and she commences cooking. I move to the kitchen counter and read bits of my assignments/lessons to her as she works. We discuss the ideas. I chop some garlic and an onion. I read the short stories to her. More discussion.
And just like that, the day is over. Food is cooked and ready for the week. Healthy lunches. Clean kitchen. My homework is done. Happy, fed pets, and we're full as ticks, too. Coffee the Critter is snoring. Her head is on my foot.
I think it's time to return to my own bed, where the constellation of cats will soon settle into formation, guarding the corners like gargoyles while they create little spots of purring heat.

Sounds like a lovely/loving day! And a profitable one, too, in a way. Keep writing, dear! I love to read your blogs!
