random youtube stuff

a little something for everyone?
Every time I hear this band sing, I wish my mother were here to hear it. I think she'd love it. A little something from Celtic Thunder:
Raggle Taggle Gypsy (some unique drum-play in this)
Ireland's Call (unless I miss my guess, this one would give Mother chills)
They also do a completely a capella version of Danny Boy--but it isn't the entire song. Sadly.
OK. Another band? Try this. Blackmoor's Night, another Celtic group. Some random stuff I listen to follows. I discovered this group via the magic of Pandora radio. I was listening to "Mummer's Dance Radio" (Loreena McKennit), and they played a lot of this group. I love them more than Loreena.
Shadow of the Moon (with a matchless guitar wall of sound)
Wish You Were Here (same. Plus, I love the lead singer has a voice that feels what cannot be said)
Where are We Going from Here? (More of the same, but I love it)
And now, some Beth Hart--a little lady with a voice to melt for.
Another rendition of Hallelujah, by Kurt Nilson:
I'm back to the Canadian Tenors. It must be my mood.
Adagio (sublime)
The Ten Tenors, which I've never heard of, tear up Bohemian Rhapsody.
Them also doing Who Wants To Live Forever, from the original Highlander.
If you know Queen, you want to hear them doing their song, so here you go.
Ah yes. Probably enough for the evening. I'm about ready to turn in. I hope y'all enjoy a couple of these. :)

Well, we listened to this and that, and found that Celtic Thunder is magnificent. We have therefore ordered 3 DVDs, and will share them with Grandmother and Newt (who celebrated 102 last Friday, by the way. Daddy
Just did. It was , of course, beautiful. However, songs not sung in English are sorta like opera, when you don’t know the story line. It’s beautiful, but you are always lost in the story. Daddy
For Irish whistle music, recommend Joannie Madden-Sally Garden. You may also want to look up the album “Celtic Twilight.”
Now when I want to get fired up a bit, a little Flogging Molly never hurts, particulary their “Drunken Lullabies.”
As for the tenors, they’re good. But, you can’t beat Freddie Mercury. Sorry, I have to stay with the original on that one.
