Lookin’ good there, girl!

I lost 15 lbs in Basic, but that was about it. I came out of the military heavier than when I went in … and in worse shape! No, I’m not looking to go back in either … fun as it might be.

Anyway, in my career field the closest I’d have probably come to Iraq would’ve been somewhere in Germany. That wouldn’t have been good for my weight, either! Lots of beer, sausage, and bread!

Man, I gotta start running again!

Glad to hear you’re OK.

PS. Where’s that rant about Al Udeid? ;)

Looks like you have lost more than just a LITTLE weight. Will we need to find you some smaller jeans by the time you get home? Or possibly BEFORE you come home?!?

Since I’m losing, too, but not quite as fast, I had to buy new jeans. The old ones were fitting much like those you are wearing in the pic.

Another good way to quickly lose a pants size - go to the hospital. Any hospital, it doesn’t matter. Even on the “normal diet, no restrictions” I went from a 38 to a 36 in less than a week. My plan sounds less strenuous than yours, but much more expensive…

Just re-read the first sentense of your post. It is usually the sightly pounds you want to lose, right? if they were unsightly then no one would notice them.

Sounds absolutely deletible (ugh!) but anyways, you look good Diana. Yeah, you probably will have to get a new wardrobe when you get home. (Christopher Reeve’s once said: “Quitting isn’t an option.") So hang in there! Wow! Won’t you appreciate a good meal on American soil!!

Oh dear…good thing Wanda’s not here…The word isn’t deletible…but delectible!!

Can I sub for Wanda and point out that it’s “delectable"? ;)

D - still haven’t stopped laughing about the alternate meaning of MRE. If unable to stop within ten minutes, going to call for help. (On that note, got any more acronyms of that nature? :) I’m a linguistics junkie, walking dictionary and pedant extraordinaire rolled into one and sold at discount price.) And what would be that sprawling metropolis in the picture behind you?

Ric,

I’s a gettin to it (the promised rant).

Aunt Ban,

I plan to gain that weight back when I get home. I’m very much looking forward to doing so.

Harry,

Mmmmmm. Hospital food. You’re right…it’s a bit more expensive than my plan, but also quite effective.

PJ,

We sit around over our gruel at the chow hall from time to time daydreaming aloud about the Texas Roadhouse and the Macaroni Grill.

Ivan,

I probably have many such, but I can’t pull them up on command. I’m afraid you’ll have to get them the same way I did: suffer through my rants while awaiting the occasional pearl.

That metropolis behind me is across the Doha Bay (also Doha?). I was offbase in Qatar. A story will follow.

Thanks Ivan. Yes you can sub for Wanda. Some words are so easy to misspell, especially if you don’t use them much.

I had copied down the quote they said Christopher Reeve’s had said and thought I had remembered it correctly, I didn’t. The proper quote was - Giving up is unacceptable.

LT-It’s not like you were in bad shape before! But congrats on losing some unwanted pounds. I agree that being over here will melt them away, even if you’re eating all day.
The stress can be enough to do it sometimes.

Hope you’re doing well. All’s going well over here. We moved our office last week.
You have my new email…if ya want to write.
Take care,

Melissa
