Keep it up, D. You’ve got at least one dedicated lurker (do I even get to call myself that after this comment? ;) ) here looking forward to every new entry.

Besides, you get to continue a time-honored tradition of front-line reporting, with the added bonus that you’re not being shot at most of the time. (Do keep your head down when you are being shot at, alright? I realize that you’re the last person who needs to be told this, but emotion’s got the mike just now and won’t give it up.)

Out of sheer felinicidal curiosity, how do you post these updates - how is the technical side set up, I mean? I’ve been following an Army soldier’s blog for a while; he had a laptop with a sattelite uplink, but it sounds like you have things organized a bit better, with a LAN for the officers at the very least.

Hi, Ivan. We have the much-envied and coveted “blue suit comm.” As a member of the comm squadron, I not only have my own personal setup (like the rest of the comm folk, officers and enlisted alike), but can attest that all of the AF on post either have LAN access in their offices or arrangements made for them to have access to them.

Yes, we do have a better setup than the Army. If it were a better-kept secret, we wouldn’t have so many soldiers drop by to try to sweet talk us into hooking them up. :)

Diana,
I am enjoying my daily jaunt to your site. Thank you so much, as a member of your family, for keeping us up to date on your day to day life, as well as just knowing that you are doing ok.
Much love,

Diana,
I have you bookmarked and have shared the site with a few friends… all of whom think you are one funny chick! You truly do have a gift for the funny and I can’t wait for you to get back to the states so we can finally meet! I can’t wait for our trip to Belize - I believe that’s what Jeff promised, right? Take care, stay safe, and let me know if there’s anything we can send you (really, anything)! - Claire

Di, I’m really glad you “started this blog". I’m still not sure what a “blog” is, but I’m enjoying yours, anyway!

Love you, and hope to see you about Christmas!

Hi, Claire!

Thanks for the free press and I’m tickled you’re enjoying it. I’m very much looking forward to Belize (or whereever y’all decide this year’s destination is–I don’t think Jeff settled on one in particular, but I’m not too picky as long as it doesn’t start with “I” and end with “q.")

Daddy,

I love you back.

Aunt B’Ann,

A “blog” is a “web log,” shortened to just “blog.” It’s just an online journal, about whatever you want to make it about, but it’s there for everyone to read, unlike a diary. I guess it’s the online equivalent of “reality” shows…only they tend to be far more real (not to mention interesting) than “reality” shows, IMO.

I haven’t done one earlier because most people don’t want to read “Got up, went to work, had an average day, went to school, exhausted, went to bed.” Love you.

Hey Diana:

I really appreciate you writing this blog. It is really interesting and funny. It helps me to get an understanding of how you all feel out there. I hope that the responses in this blog helps you through the loneliness, lets you know that people here in the states are thinking of you. I also told a friend about your blog, hope you don’t mind, it’s good stuff. :) Hang in there, it will be over and you will be home before you know it. Besides, there’s nothing major important going on in the states right now, unless you like hurricanes. :) Well, have a good day today Diana.

Diana,
I am with a few others on this list that has sent the site to friends and relatives. If you do mind… speak now.. or forever hold it… LOl
I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the site, and your writing. You have a powerful way of taking me from the depth of tears to sitting at my computer, reading quietly to myself and all of a sudden BURSTING out in laughter. You can imagine the looks I get from co-workers! LOL
Love to you.. Helen
