Diana,

I’m glad that you’ve made the cut, but I’m sorry for the cost. I remember how all your loyal readers rehearsed your qualifications, trying to convince you (and us) that you were sure to prevail. But now it doesn’t seem so convincing.

I’ve watched a number of friends get escorted to the door over the years, but that’s different. There’s almost always another company they can go to, another job to further their career or a new career altogether. Many I’ve kept in touch with said they were grateful, eventually, for what happened. It was a way to escape a clearly inept employer, and in most cases get paid for it. But in the case of your colleagues, there aren’t a lot of other Air Forces to choose from.

Diana,

I wanted to reply to your last entry, you beat me to it with this one.

Not really sure what to add here that could be of any real words of wisdom other than the usual waiting is the worst of anything that we anticipate in our lives. But I know those words right now are of little help to you right now.

To break away for a moment ~ I hope you don’t mind me asking how your trip to England went. By the time I was able to visit your blog, I saw that you had taken off and were most likely enjoying some lovely moments visiting history (and hopefully some pubs).
