Not a single retarded pun involving the word “run,” I see. What, did you think I was the only person who deserved to be run through all that crap, or are you feeling too run-down to keep it up? I guess that line of humor had already been run into the ground, or maybe it just ran out of steam. Did you think I’d run you out of the office if you kept it up?

Okay, I’m done. I’ll run along now….

Still enjoying your writing, D! I check the list every day, and am absurdly disappointed when I don’t see that you’ve written us another note. Keep up the good work–and don’t give up running just yet! (No, I’m NOT planning to challenge you to a race when you get back!)

Youch! D -

Just reading this post made my arthritis act up!

When I advised you to “stay close to the grunts” I didn’t mean you had to RUN with them!

Hi. I just discovered your site and had to read them all to catch up. I’m a USAF TSgt who will be going there on the next rotation. I’ll be landing as you are leaving. This is really good information you’re giving us. Keep up the good work. I’m going to forward this Blog to everyone I can think of who will be deploying with me. We’ll be at the Hospital and the CASF. Any info to share there?
The OPR you went over sounds just like our EPRs I all ways thought we should get CCAF credit for Creative Fiction. Sorry to hear about your Change of Command bullet, it seems like it would’ve been a better one since it had meat to it.

Travis.

Travis,

Bring foot powder! Gold Bond is a lifesaver when you’re stuck in your boots for 16+ hours most days. Bring all the PT gear you can find, lots of insect repellent, and a good sense of humor. That’ll keep you alive here.

….oh yeah. Rain gear. And extra boots. More socks than you can shake a stick at. And, yes, it has already been down to 65, so you will need the cold weather gear. I love my polypro, and the Gore-tex will most definitely be used. Everyone’s scrambling to find enough right now, since they came out here with the heat in mind.
