(Where does Dr. N teach that “corporate” has a say in what holidays are observed? That sounds like a stunt my employer would pull.)

I had a boss back in the Dark Ages who could be a dink at times, but his heart was in the right place. When the company decreed that all employees must work 6 hours every Saturday in November and December of that year, he scheduled them as Staff Development and Training days in our group. So we played Trivial Pursuit on those days.
